Cookie Policy

If a cookie is not required for a feature you can see, this site does not set it.

This cookie policy explains what Hearthline stores on your device. It matches the site as published: static pages, no account, and no analytics product.

Cookies the site sets

Hearthline does not set cookies for advertising, analytics, or login. You can read every guide, use the category filters, and use search without accepting a cookie banner, because there is no optional tracker to accept. The search box and the blog filters run from files that ship with the site. They do not send your query to a separate search vendor.

Your browser may keep a page in its ordinary cache so the next visit loads faster. That is standard browser behavior, not a Hearthline profile. The site does not write a preference into local storage.

Hosting logs

The host that serves the files may record IP addresses and requested URLs in server logs. Those logs are not cookies. They are described in the privacy policy.

Contact form

Opening the contact page and submitting a message sets one session cookie so the server can reject a forged submit from another site. The cookie lasts for the browser session, is not readable by page scripts, and is not an analytics cookie. The message itself is stored in a database outside the public site, as the privacy policy describes. No mail is sent from the form.

Hearthline does not publish a street address, a phone number, or an email address. Questions about a guide go through the contact form.

Third-party sites

Manufacturer, FDA, and CPSC links leave Hearthline. Those sites can set their own cookies under their own policies. Fonts on Hearthline are self-hosted, so a font request does not go to a third-party font network.

Your choices

You can block cookies in the browser without losing access to the guides, because the guides do not depend on them. Blocking cookies blocks the contact form's session check, so a message cannot be confirmed. The date of this version is October 23, 2026.
